Mainstream
Little Ninjas, Tae Kwon Do, and weapons.
Classes for students who are not in the adaptive program. The week is on the schedule.
Little Ninjas
Ages 4–6. Students learn kicks, punches, blocks, and patterns so the later material is not a surprise. The class works on discipline and on respect for instructors, parents, and peers. Students are responsible for their belt, their uniform, and what they know of the curriculum.
Mainstream Tae Kwon Do
Junior classes are ages 7–12. Adult classes are 13 and up. Tae Kwon Do, from Korea, means “way of the hand and foot.” Class starts with a warm-up and stretching, then techniques, drills, and patterns for self-defense, coordination, and focus.
Weapons
Open to mainstream juniors and adults, and to adult adaptive students. It is its own class on the schedule. The list they publish is nunchaku, escrima sticks, bo staff, and kamas. Right now the class is working escrima sticks, from the Philippines, from the Spanish word esgrima, “fencing.”
